Digital Services Tax Consultation
Current Status: Open until June 18, 2021
The government is committed to ensuring that corporations in all sectors, including digital corporations, pay their fair share of taxes on the money they earn by doing business in Canada. This consultation seeks views and feedback on the proposed approach to implementing the Digital Services Tax outlined in Budget 2021. Details about this proposal are available in the Budget 2021 Annex 7 entitled Consultations on Other Tax Measures: Supplementary Information.
Who is the focus of this consultation?
Through this consultation, we want to hear from interested stakeholders including affected businesses, tax practitioners, civil society groups and members of the public. In submitting your comments, please include:
- Full name;
- Name of the organization;
- Telephone number, including area code; and
- Reply e-mail address.

Should you wish to provide comments by mail, please direct your submission to the attention of the Tax Policy Branch.
We’ll be collecting your feedback and will consider your input alongside the analysis of departmental officials to help inform decisions on the proposed Digital Services Tax.
