Intro to the NDWCC – 2024

Dear Defence Team Members,

It is a great privilege for me to be the Defence Team Champion for the 2024 National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC). Our campaign will launch on 12 September 2024.

NDWCC is the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces’ contribution to the larger Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC).

We collectively show great generosity each year, helping to ensure the GCWCC remains the most successful workplace fundraising campaign in the country with over 28.7 million dollars raised in 2023. Last year, contributions from DND totaled 2.1 million dollars. Defence Team members have continued to support their communities as volunteers or through domestic operations such as Op LENTUS.

This year’s NDWCC slogan is ‘Take Flight for Good’. The slogan was chosen to represent the Royal Canadian Air Force as the lead organization for this year’s campaign, and encourages Defence Team members to play a role, whether it be as volunteers, team leads, or contributors, in supporting the good causes that are represented by the NDWCC.

Donating this year is easier than ever: you can do so online via ePledge, which will be available to all Defence Team members beginning on 9 September 2024. This link will be distributed as part of our Campaign launch and provides “donor’s choice”, meaning you choose the organizations you would most like to support.

You can also use FlipGive. This is an app where you can do your regular shopping with any of the 300 registered retailers and a portion of your purchase will go towards NDWCC.

Remember, no donation is too small. Every cent given makes a real difference to Canadians in need.
