Action Plan on Recruitment and Retention in the Canadian Armed Forces

The Office of the Auditor General’s fall 2016 report identified areas for improvement with respect to recruitment and retention efforts in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and made various recommendations on how to address them.

In late April 2017, the CAF tabled a Management Action Plan, in response to the report, detailing how the OAG’s recommendations are being addressed and providing timelines for implementation.

The CAF continues to make progress towards fully addressing all of the report’s recommendations, which have contributed to refocussing efforts to improve the way we attract, select and enroll new recruits, and retain military personnel. At the same time, an extensive review of the recruiting process is underway to make it more timely and efficient.
