"What is your favourite memory from this posting?"
I think it's having had the chance to discover a new culture, having worked with new people, both Canadians and Tunisians.
Hello, I'm Captain Laurie-Ann Bédard, Training Development Officer at the 2nd Canadian Division Training Centre. Today, I'm taking part in the 60 Seconds Challenge in order to speak to you a little about my posting to Tunisia, a Military Training and Cooperation Program initiative to support the Tunisian armed forces build some combat first aid capacity. Here we go.
"Why did you take part in a deployment to Tunisia?"
In fact, like I told you, the objective was to develop combat first aid training. So, I went with four medical technicians who, for their part, focussed on the content of the training. As for me, I was observing the quality of the training. So, I made sure that the quality of the training delivered was at an acceptable standard, and I provided professional development as needed.
"How many years have you been in the CAF?"
I have been in the Canadian Armed Forces for nearly four years.
"What is your favourite Tunisian dish?"
So, I had bambalouni there, a dish from the town of Sidi Bou Said, which could be compared to a beaver tail here. It was excellent. It's like a fried dessert. It was… It was fantastic.
"How did you find the experience of working with the Tunisian armed forces?"
Honestly, the people are so grateful, so ready to listen. As soon as we gave them comments, they applied them automatically. It was very easy to work with them.
That's it! Thanks!
