My name is Isla Adams, I'm a first year at RMC on the fencing team and this is the 60 Seconds challenge.
What would you tell an incoming first year RMC cadet who is interested in athletics?
I'd say go for it, especially for the fencing team. It's the only varsity team that lets people who totally don't know the rules of the game on, so just go for it.
What varsity athlete skills will help you and your CAF career?
For my sport in particular, I'm Saber for fencing and it's all about decisiveness, which will help immensely when I'm in a leadership position.
What occupation in the CAF do you plan on joining after you graduate from RMC?
My trade right now is Marine Systems Engineering and I plan on sticking with that the whole way through. I'm really looking forward to getting some time on ship.
Why are fitness and Wellness important at RMC?
There is a lot of fitness aspects at RMC. There's classes and tons and tons of teams and there's a lot of opportunity to improve yourself through that. And it's about taking care of yourself, which is really the most important thing.
And that's all the questions I have.
