Transcript
(E) Exercise TAZ RUNNER, an annual explosive ordnance disposal exercise, recently concluded at 19 Wing Comox.
This joint exercise hosted by the Royal Canadian Air Force, included participation from the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Navy across Defence facilities in the Comox Valley.
This training allows Explosives Disposal units to practice scenarios involving the use of Improvised Explosive Device Defeat strategies resulting in controlled explosions.
Participants included flights and units who specialize in this field from across Canada, with out-of-province members quarantining at HMCS Quadra for seven days prior to the exercise.
All provincial and military COVID-19 health measures were followed at all times.
Before we go, a reminder that National Public Service Week will be held from June 13 to 19, recognizing the success and accomplishments of all hard-working public servants, including those who contribute as part of the Defence Team.
While the current situation prevents us from celebrating as we normally might, social media, virtual recognition, videos and other online activities will be used to ensure the Public Service is fully recognized.
