(JH) A lot of working together, grabbing parts for each other, and just watching all the aircraft leaving the air fields been awesome too.
(BM) So, the national SAREX 2024, here in Comox, is a significant event where we're gonna gather together a group of professional search and rescue people and we're going to challenge ourselves with dynamic scenarios and we're going to learn from each other and make ourselves better for future SAR operations. So, in this case, from a pure ally perspective, the United States Air Force and United States Coast Guard are joining us. We work with them quite a bit, for a variety of reasons and different scenarios in our vast area of responsibility. And here, the BC boarder, of course, bumps up against the US in the south and in the north. So, we deal with them quite often. So, our interoperability with them is important to our success.
(WJ) Every scenario for SAREX is tailored to missions that the CAF has previously done in the past. There're scenarios that are challenging, they're robust, they take a lot of thinking, a lot of mental work and piloting skills and skills from our technicians in the back to either triage patients, find the crews and bring them back home. This is a week where we can train those demanding missions in a controlled environment under the guidance of some of our best instructorpilots and aircrews that the CAF has.
(JH) It's been fantastic! You get to learn a lot from other technicians. Everyone has their own skill sets. Everyone has their own knowledge they picked up through the years. And you really get to learn from each other and put it all together and take it home with you when you're done.
