We start our careers focused on performance and completion of the mission. We always place priority on getting the job done and perfecting our skills to do so throughout our careers. We make sure our equipment is ready, our unit is prepared, our training is up to date and that our physical fitness is included as part of this preparation.

In our drive to be ready to respond, we may forget a critical aspect of who we are as people: our emotional and mental health. There's so much expected of us at work and at home. Our families are often a source of great strength and support, but they can also experience stress as we may not see.

Deployments, moves, the day-to-day activities of the family, that all adds up.

If you, a family member or someone you know needs help, get it. Ask for it.

Here at CFB Halifax, our military and civilian defence team members and their families have access to many mental health resources.

From the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Atlantic to the employee's assistance program and our local health and wellness programs, our services are designed to help our most valuable asset: our people.

Your mental health is as important as your physical health.

We are here to support you and your family however we can. Let's talk.
