The Urban Operations Training System project is equipping the Canadian Army with four new simulated training sites Located at Army bases across Canada. These sites are equipped with state-of-the-art, live simulation technology to recreate the conditions a soldier may experience in real urban combat situations, including sights, sounds, and smells. The first location at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown became fully operational for training in July 2021.
And the remaining three sites became fully operational to provide training to the Army in August 2021. These training sites provide Canadian Army soldiers with standardized, world-class training they need to maintain operational effectiveness now, and into the future.
