Information for Defence Team Civilians: Update on the Phoenix damages agreement – Final day of leave

As a result of the agreement on damages caused by Phoenix signed in June 2019, the final one day of leave for 2019–20 is scheduled to be added to leave balances of eligible employees during the weekend of June 19, 2020. This leave represents general compensation for financial and/or non-financial damages, including but not limited to general stress, aggravation and lost time. Please consult the information online for:

Department of National Defence (DND) had previously credited employees with up to four days of additional leave (link accessible only on the Government of Canada network) for damages caused by Phoenix.

DND employees can review their Phoenix damages entitlement in Human Resources Management System (HRMS) by clicking the “Leave Self Service” tab, followed by “Employee Leave Summary”. The leave will be listed under code “100” and further information on the entitlement will be provided under the “adjustment reason” column of the leave transactions table.
