Nominate a colleague for a Deputy Minister Commendation Award

We are pleased to announce the DM Commendations Program has been re-launched as a complimentary program to the Celebrating Excellence Awards!

Know any Defence Team all-stars who’ve made their mark on the organization? If so, here’s your chance to nominate them for one of the four award categories!

The award categories for the 2020/2021 program have been chosen to support emerging priorities for National Defence. Each quarter represents a different theme and award category.

The four awards categories are:

1. Youth/Student Award (Q2)
2. Wellness Award (Q3)
3. Diversity and Inclusion Award (Q4)
4. Environment Award (Q1)

This quarter, we are accepting nominations for the Youth/Student Award! Find out below if you’re nominee fits the criteria.

Youth/Student Award

Awarded to young leaders (ages 18 – 25) who have inspired their peers and the Defence Team while embracing the values of Strong, Secure, Engaged.

• Young leaders who:
  • demonstrate character and an ability to overcome adversity;
  • demonstrate a positive attitude, respect and leadership;
  • inspire, support, and respect others with honour and dignity; and/or
  • inspire and motivate others through actions and solutions.

Do you know a young leader or a team of young leaders (maximum 10 individuals) who has positively impacted the Department of National Defence? If the answer is yes, nominate them today!

The nomination deadline for this quarter is September 30, 2020. Recipients will be invited to the Deputy Minister’s office to receive their award in October 2020.
