The 2020 Virtual Celebrating Excellence Awards.

The 2020 “Virtual” Celebrating Excellence Awards (CEA) took place throughout National Public Service Week (NSPW), between June 15-19.

Under normal circumstances the ceremony would be held in person, but with the challenges presented by COVID-19, this year’s ceremony was held virtually on the Maple Leaf.

In total, twenty-six Celebrating Excellence Awards were handed out across the five award categories to hard-working individuals and teams across the Defence Team, with a different category announced each day during NPSW.

If you happened to miss the announcements, you can check-out the award’s pages by accessing the links below

Monday (June 15) – DM/CDS Excellence in Defence Award

Tuesday (June 16) – DM/CDS Team Impact Award

Wednesday (June 17) – DM/CDS Gen Tom Lawson Team Builder Award

Thursday (June 18) – DM Award of Excellence

Friday (June 19) – CDS Distinguished Achievement Award

The CEA’s are awarded annually and represent the highest expression of recognition within the Department of National Defence (DND). They highlight the accomplishments and hard work of the members of our Defence Team, and celebrate the DND and  CAF’s greatest strength – its people!

Another big congratulations to this year’s recipients of the Celebrating Excellence Awards, and thanks to all Defence Team members for their continued hard-work!

Speaking of celebrating excellent co-workers…

Do you know of a colleague or team deserving of recognition for their achievements? Why not send them a Virtual Shout-Out?

A Virtual Shout-Out is a few sentences recognizing a colleague for a job well done! Shout-Outs will be posted to the new Defence Team “Virtual Shout-Out” Bulletin Board on The Maple Leaf and HR Go RH app.

Please e-mail all requests for shout outs to the Corporate Awards and Recognition team (CARS). Please also provide the email(s) of the person(s) being recognized. Please note, shout-Out recipients will be given the option to “opt out” of having their message displayed on the Bulletin Board, and submissions can remain anonymous.
