The way of the future of Government of Canada Learning points towards virtual delivery and DND is on board! Virtual learning allows access for all our bases and wings across the country and all L1s, and in both official languages.

The Learning and Career Centres are capitalizing on the opportunity of our current remote work posture related to COVID-19 to focus our efforts on virtual training delivery and advice, support for virtual collaboration and virtual collaboration tools, and other advisory services to our Defence Team clients.

We are here to assist with virtual onboarding for new employees, new students and new managers of civilians.

We are pivoting to help upskill employees in virtual delivery and production through a new partnership established with ADM (Materiel) to assist in providing this support. Additionally, a new tool, “Actionable Conversations”, will be available to managers to support them in driving real change on an individual, team and organizational level through a process that involves team conversations, individually relevant actions, and peer accountability.

We may not be able to get together for in-person workshops or in the classroom for the time being but that doesn't mean learning is on hold!  There are numerous digital and virtual learning opportunities for Defence Team members who want to learn new skills and improve their existing skills, from virtual onboarding, virtual collaboration and support to leverage virtual collaboration tools, virtual delivery and virtual production, and more!

Check out the Defence Learning Catalogue, the Defence Learning Network, and the Canada School of Public Service GCcampus for a complete listing of online, self-paced offerings! The Learning and Career Centres are working towards a national calendar with a complete listing of all their virtual offerings soon, including a course on Resilience. Stay tuned!

In addition, your local Learning Advisor can provide support on learning plans.
