Available Now! Enrol in Self-Service Reset Password on your DND/CAF Computer Today

October 26, 2020 - Defence Stories

Self-Service Reset Password (SSPR) is now available for all DWAN accounts on Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) issued computers.

SSPR allows Defence Team members to reset their DWAN passwords by themselves, without the need of contacting an IT Service Desk. Enrolling in SSPR is voluntary; however, we encourage all Defence Team members to enrol, as it is the fastest, easiest, and most secure way to reset your password.

How do I get started?

In order to use SSPR to reset a forgotten DWAN password, you must first enrol when your computer prompts you. You can enrol, while being connected to the DWAN via T-DVPNI (remote connection).

While enrolling, SSPR will ask you to provide answers to three pre-determined questions, and submit two personal questions and their corresponding answers. These responses will be used to authenticate your identity when resetting your password.

Once completed, you will now be able to reset your password from the Windows Sign-in/Log-on screen at any time by following the on-screen SSPR instructions.

Please note, a password reset can only be performed with a hardwire connection to DWAN. At this time, personnel working on laptops using T-DVPNI (remote connection) to connect to the DWAN cannot reset their passwords with SSPR.

You can find further instructions and information about SSPR here .
