The MSEI has had a major impact on our lives. It has been difficult finding full time employment, but I was able to find it through this program.

I first applied to the Military Spouse Employment Initiative (MSEI) in January, 2019. I got a call at the end of August and was hired as a casual employee for a clerk position in the orderly room of the Halifax dock yard in October, 2019. I was just offered a two year term position. It’s amazing that the MSEI has allowed me to secure a more permanent position.

I really like where I’m working. When my husband left on deployment, I received a lot of support at work. My coworkers are all military members, relatives of CAF members, or long-term government employees who understand what I’m going through. My experience has been very positive.

The MSEI has had a major impact on our lives. It has been difficult finding full time employment, but I was able to find it through this program.

If I could offer any advice to my fellow military spouses, it would be hang in there! I’ve received call backs for many positions since accepting my new position, and they’re all great opportunities. I strongly recommend taking advantage of any opportunity you can get.
