Updating your Section 34 Manager in Phoenix

Have you recently changed positions or had a change in manager? You must check if the information has been modified in all sections.

It is critical that your manager is correctly identified before you submit any payable time or leave without pay (LWOP) for five days or less. This will also allow your manager to:

Employees who are in an acting position must also link themselves to their Section 34 manager (even if the manager has not changed). Acting appointments create a new employee record and information is not copied from their substantive position employee record.

For instructions on how to select your Section 34 manager, please follow the instructions on the Phoenix User Productivity Kit. Every time there is a change in position or a new manager, the employee must update their Section 34 manager in Phoenix.

You cannot delete previous Section 34 manager relationships. But once you have added your new manager’s name, outstanding time entries will be automatically rerouted. Read the Getting started with Phoenix self-service fact sheet to learn helpful tips to avoid common mistakes.

Important note: The Phoenix Pay System does not automatically notify managers when a transaction is entered into the system. If you submit a request through Phoenix Self-Service, please let your manager know that there is a transaction that requires their approval.
