July 16: Twitter Update from the Deputy Minister Jody Thomas

July 20, 2021 – Defence Stories

Friday update:  Regions are relaxing COVID-rules bit by bit. There are more people around and it can feel a little weird. Remember the basics you can control. Keep washing hands. Keep wearing masks. Keep social distancing. And get vaccinated.

As the Afghanistan situation evolves, people we love, friends and colleagues who served there, are feeling this very personally. Be respectful and empathetic to the ongoing toll of their dedicated service in that complex country.

Big shoutout to CAF members working on #OpLENTUS, doing critical work to support Indigenous communities and Canadians in danger. At a time when troops would traditionally be getting down time with families, they are serving. Thank you.

Not all rockstars play guitar. ADM (RS)’s DG Audit Team has overcome big barriers to table a dozen+ evaluation reports in the last 2 months. Their awesome work helps us serve Canada better. Reports live here: Audit and Evaluation Reports

How are you getting your downtime this summer? I’ve stepped back a lot from my social media consumption. It’s a personal choice—you do you. Just know it’s ok to be strategic in how you stay informed and engaged.
