Friday update:  A safe, respectful Defence Team culture requires a concerted approach with many nuances. An approach that is inclusive of many different communities, and recognizes the many intersections within our Defence Team.

We’re in the early stages of a vast and complicated institutional shift. A lot of change is on the table. Planning, consultation and important discussions are underway to make sure we get things right. Still lots to learn. 

Education will be key. This week we released direction that all DND sub delegated managers are required to take new mandatory training to help identify and overcome unconscious bias via @School_GC.

Re learning: DND Managers, how are your students? Lots of ways to enrich their experience. ADM(RS) held two well-received virtual coffee talks with their students: easy to organize, and time is a true gift to those eager to learn.

#Shoutout: Big thanks to the Office of Disability Management (accessible only on the National Defence network)for their vital support to ill and injured DND employees. The team’s expanding sites into the regions, while dealing with unprecedented case volume due to COVID.
