The 3rd Year Anniversary of ADM(DIA)

August 13, 2021 - Defence Stories

This summer marks the third year since the Assistant Deputy Minister (Data, Innovation, Analytics) was established to lead, sponsor and guide the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces to fully embrace a data-driven culture.

In 3 short years, ADM(DIA) has led a number of priorities that have helped National Defence transition towards a data driven organization, such as:

The vision for the future

The Assistant Deputy Minister's group (Data, Innovation and Analytics) has a vision that all data at Defence will be trustworthy, secure and useable across all of our systems. Every Defence Team member, whatever their role, will have reliable and consistent information at their fingertips no matter where they are in the world or what they are doing. And we will all have the tools – both technology and training – to understand and use this information to become more effective, more collaborative, and more innovative than ever before.

We will continue to work together to protect our valuable data assets, and harness them through analytics to drive deliberate decision-making and innovation that advances the goals of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Department of National Defence, and the Government of Canada.
