To highlight the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Canadian Innovation Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace is offering the session below.
Overview
Join the co-founder Raven Lacerte and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Stevenson of the Moose Hide Campaign. The Moose Hide Campaign invites men, boys, and all Canadians to work together to end violence against women and children. This session will speak to issues of domestic and gender-based violence, indigenous culture and medicine, and reconciliation.

Presented by
Raven Lacerte is a proud member of the Carrier First Nation in northern British Columbia and belongs to the Bear Clan. She is the co-founder and National Ambassador for the Moose Hide Campaign, a national grass-roots effort to end violence towards Indigenous and non-Indigenous women and children. The Moose Hide Campaign started by Raven and her father Paul Lacerte in 2011 has now grown into a national movement of all Canadians working together to end violence towards women and children. Raven is a mother of her young daughter Cedar Bear and loving fiancé Dominic Paul. Raven and her family are hunters and practitioners of traditional Indigenous cultural and ceremonial activities.
David Stevenson is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Moose Hide Campaign. David has worked in Indigenous social wellness for over 25 years-from Native youth outreach worker in Vancouver’s Downtown East End to executive positions in government leading reconciliation initiatives. He is of Irish, French and Haudenosaunee ancestry and lives on the side of Pkols Mountain in Lekwungen - speaking people’s territory with his partner and 2 daughters.

* This session will be delivered in English, however, the participant’s guide will be shared in both official languages and a simultaneous interpretation in French will be available.
