Phoenix damages agreement with PSAC: Launch of claims process for severe impacts
November 17, 2021 - Defence Stories
If you are an employee who is represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and you have experienced severe personal or financial impacts due to Phoenix, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
There are various types of claims that you can make under a process that is now available to current and former employees covered under the Phoenix damages agreement reached with PSAC in October 2020. You can choose to make one or several claims at the same time. These claims could include:
- financial costs or lost investment income due to delays in pay
 - severe damages and personal hardship, including mental anguish
 - leave taken because of health issues

A threshold of $1,500 may apply depending on the type of claim. This means that you will receive compensation if the total amount of your claim is determined to be greater than $1,500. This amount will only be applied once for all claims submitted under this process.
To learn more about this process or to submit a claim, visit claim compensation for severe impacts on canada.ca. If you were covered under the 2019 damages agreement at any point between 2016 and 2020, and you have suffered severe impacts for which you did not submit a claim, you can also do so under this process.
Please note that work is continuing on the launch of a claims process in December 2021 for former employees to receive general damages compensation. More information will be shared once this claim process is available.
