Join the Defence Champion for Women for the Defence Team national event celebrating International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day (accessible only on the National Defence network), Defence Team members are invited to join virtually the Defence Champion for Women for a national event on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, presented by the Defence Women’s Advisory Organization.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognize the achievements of women in the Defence Team and their significant contributions. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the movement for change to build a Defence Team that welcomes everyone who would contribute to the defence and security of Canada.

The Champion, Rear-Admiral Rebecca Patterson, will host a hybrid virtual national event under the theme Women Inspiring Women. It celebrates all the women who inspire us by demonstrating leadership, ingenuity, and fortitude in their day-to-day lives.

After messages from the Defence Team leadership and opening remarks from the Champion, this event will comprise of two virtual pre-recorded panels, followed by a live Q&A session. Defence Team members are invited to send their questions in the official language of their choice during the event via Slido, with the event code #IWDJIF.
