On June 27, 2022, 4 Wing Cold Lake celebrated the Canadian Multiculturalism day organized by the 4 Wing Defence Visible Minority Advisory Group (DVMAG). The beautiful event started with the playing of the Canadian anthem by the 4 Wing band followed by speeches by the guests of honour, Acting Wing Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Corey Mask, and the 4 Wing DVMAG Champion, Lieutenant-Colonel Martin Roesler-Yue. On behalf of the 4 Wing DVMAG, the event was hosted by Major Matt Hung in both English and French, while the event communication was led by Captain Jie Xi Fan. Many participants dressed in their traditional wardrobe for the day and the event concluded with a photo shoot at the Heritage Park highlighting the diversity and support for multiculturalism at 4 Wing, in which 37 military and civilian personnel participated.

The Canadian Multiculturalism Day is celebrated on June 27 of each year following the Royal Proclamation by the Government of Canada in 2002.  Canadian Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity, commitment to democracy, equality and mutual respect for Canadians of all backgrounds.

The Defence Visible Minority Advisory Group (DVMAG) is a volunteer-run advisory group comprising of Military and Civilian members of the Defence Team who dedicate efforts towards identifying and eliminating systemic barriers for visible minority members in the organization, creating an inclusive workplace based on mutual respect and appreciation for cultural differences. The 4 Wing DVMAG is led by the Champion Lieutenant-Colonel Martin Roesler-Yue, Military Co-chair, Captain Abiodun Abati, and Civilian Co-chair, Mr. Shamsul Haque. The 4 Wing DVMAG encourages all Defence team members to join the advisory group by contacting their local DVMAG representatives.
