Are you looking for meaningful opportunities to connect with and support fellow Indigenous employees? Do you know someone who is passionate about helping others to reach their full potential? ADM(HR-Civ) is piloting a new Indigenous Career Navigator Program (ICNP) to support the recruitment and retention of Indigenous Defence Team personnel and we’re looking for up to 2 Indigenous employees who are interested in joining us on this journey as our first Career Navigators.
The Career Navigator Program was developed in response to the Many Voices One Mind Strategy and Action Plan and supports DND’s Civilian Indigenous Recruitment and Retention Strategy. Working in partnership with Knowledge Centre for Indigenous Inclusion (KCII), the Career Navigators will provide coast-to-coast support, leveraging their public service experience and knowledge of Indigenous culture to:
- support the career advancement of Indigenous Defence Team personnel,
- collaborate with DND hiring managers on recruitment and retention initiatives,
- offer guidance at the individual, group, and department-wide level to strengthen relationships in the spirit of Reconciliation, and
- participate in the Indigenous Career Navigator Circle (ICNC), an enterprise-wide community support network designed to share best practices, provide advice and guidance on complex files or new issues and focus on continuous learning for enhanced service capacity.
This is an opportunity to directly support Indigenous employees recognize their talents and reach their professional goals. This position is open to Defence Team employees across Canada at any location and we are open to considering applicants from various groups and levels, with a variety of language profiles.
