Virtual Shout-Outs - Fantastic February Shout-Outs!

Do you know of a co-worker who deserves a special shout-out or are you looking for a way to recognize someone who has made an impact, big or small?  Virtual Shout-Outs are a quick and easy way for you to publicly recognize a colleague, or team of colleagues, for a job well done.

Here’s how to submit a Virtual Shout-out:

• Email your shout-outs to the Corporate Awards and Recognition Secretariat and
• Provide the email(s) of the person(s) being recognized.
• Shout-outs are collected on an ongoing basis.

Note that shout-out recipients will be given the option to “opt out” of having their message displayed on the Bulletin Board (accessible only on the National Defence network) on the Maple Leaf and the Defence Team intranet, and submissions can remain anonymous.

A big THANK YOU to the small but mighty MND/DM/Corp Sec/AMND Comptroller Team.  This year, in addition to completing the centralization of SWE financial responsibilities, implementing Post Payment Verification pre-submission reviews to beef up our internal audit results, acting as an interim Contracting Cell while we staff our PG team, and backstopping many L2 teams with missing Business Managers/financial staff across their portfolio, they’ve juggled numerous urgent taskings in support of the MND and DM Offices, and a plethora of reporting deadlines.  They’ve worked evenings and weekends too many to count while juggling their own family and personal responsibilities and they’ve done all this with fantastic team spirit, kindness, collaboration and positive attitude.  A huge SHOUT OUT to Tricia Anderson, Tanya Beauchamp, Simran Chadalavada, Jesse Duodu, Christina Lapointe, Carla Strain and Max Tarazona (now with ADM Fin) for your hard work, passion, and dedication!

I’d like to submit a virtual shout out for Jayson Lavergne!

Jayson is a collaborator extraordinaire! The Community Management team is grateful for his coaching, knowledge sharing and technical support. He is always a quick message away and makes himself available as a technical backup for our Defence Team Managers Network Coffee Chats. When he is online, we have major peace of mind! He is happy to see others’ grow and succeed, which is an admirable quality.

I would like to send a virtual shout-out to Caroline Turcotte, who started working for me in October 2022, as a Training Coordinator.  She jumped into the job like she had already been doing it for years, and has improved spreadsheets to make them more user friendly, and much more comprehensive.  She is always willing to help me out with my duties and always does it with a smile.  She is a great asset to our team and I am so happy that she is here.  Caroline, just want you to know that your hard work has not gone unnoticed!
