On August 6, two helicopters from 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (430 THS) conducted a parade formation flight over the Trois-Rivières racing circuit during the NASCAR Grand Prix.
Highlighting the last race of the weekend, the two helicopters dazzled the spectators on site. Several thousand to have moved for the event, they were treated to a real spectacle. By adopting a tight, precise, and stable formation, the Falcons were able to set the stage for the rest of the day, which turned out to be sensational.
This type of event represents a great challenge in terms of logistics and planning, both on the ground and in the air.
The preparation must be perfect in order to respond to all situations that arise for the crew members. It is a perfect opportunity for the members of 430 Tac Hel Sqn to perfect their flying skills as well as to demonstrate to the population the capabilities of the Royal Canadian Air Force. As a result, the tactical helicopter unit increases its visibility and presence among Canadians. RDS and TSN, two Canadian sports networks, were able to capture the moment for listeners at home, who were able to enjoy the show.
