Virtual Shout-Outs – Bulletin #33

Way to Go! Nice Work! Keep it Up!

November shout-outs are warming up the Defence team, with a big cup of positivi-tea!

“Take time to appreciate employees, and they will reciprocate in a thousand ways."

-Bob Nelson

Do you know of a co-worker who deserves a special shout-out or are you looking for a way to recognize someone who has made an impact, big or small? Virtual Shout-Outs are a quick and easy way for you to publicly recognize a colleague, or team of colleagues, for a job well done.

Here’s how to submit a Virtual Shout-out:

Note that shout-out recipients will be given the option to “opt out” of having their message displayed on the Bulletin Board (accessible only on the National Defence network) on the Maple Leaf and the Defence Team intranet, and submissions can remain anonymous.

Don’t delay! Virtually shout-out your hard-working colleagues today!

– WO Daniel Bailey

I would like to do a little shout out for my Live Simulation Team – the Weapon Effect Simulator Equipment Management Team.

Congratulations on completing the difficult and complex task of placing the Weapon Effects Simulator into hibernation. This work required learning about how to close a business line temporarily, but also how important it is to maintain partnerships with your user community. The last 10 months have been difficult, but you have persevered.

During the current APS, CFSACO faced a shortage of qualified instructors due to postings and other commitments. MCpl Zavislak willingly took on the challenge of delivering two courses simultaneously while also guiding and mentoring new staff in their roles as Course Director and lesson instructors.

Allow me to nominate two people.

Both are civilians who work for 25 Canadian Forces Supply Depot (CFSD).

  1. Daniela Gustinvil, who is currently a Client Service supervisor.
  2. Alfredo des Leon Rodas, who has been in charge of daily production at our depot for many years.

Daniela is a very mature young woman. She is always calm and friendly, a true professional. She excels at her job, and she also takes the time to listen to people, explaining things if necessary, always with a smile on her face.

On top of all that, she is involved in many volunteer activities in our depot. A true leader.

Alfredo is one of the most competent people in our depot, ensuring that our daily production runs smoothly.

For those of you who don’t know, this may seem like a trivial matter, but you have to understand that here at the depot we send out between 500 and 600 types of items per day (500 types of articles x 100EA/type sometimes). In short, an impressive quantity of merchandise, urgent or regular, is sent to all the military bases here and around the world in Operations Centres.

It requires a lot of coordination and he has been doing it perfectly for years, with dedication and modesty, despite the importance of his position.

His work is essential to the depot. Like Daniela, he is always smiling and friendly and helping everyone.

Allow me to nominate Mr. Alexendre Huneault. A civilian who works for 25 CFSD. Alex works in the traffic section. He is in charge of international shipments and has become an expert in this field. He’s very mature for his age and can be relied on to carry out his tasks professionally. He was a key player in the Ukraine donations, taking charge of providing the correct customs documents needed to get materials to Europe. He volunteered to create a tracking list for stock renewal shipments in the Far North (Box Top). He has efficiently completed all the training required in order to become a supervisor in the near future. I sincerely hope that an opportunity opens up for him.

Until then, I’d like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU for all your hard work!
– the 25 CFSD

TDSS would like to share our appreciation for Pierre-Étienne Robinson and his support with a recent tech issue that brought our virtual facilitation to a standstill. Several members of our team and many participants coast to coast were suddenly unable to log in to the Saba/Cornerstone Classroom portion of the DLN 3.0. For TDSS, this was a major operational crisis! Thanks to Pierre-Étienne’s quick thinking and outstanding troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, he was able to quickly identify the issue and bring it to the proper team for resolution. Within two days, participants and instructors were up and running again nationwide! Merci Pierre-Étienne!
