Today is Bell Let's Talk Day, and we want to take this opportunity to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health. Everyone plays a role in creating a supportive environment where we feel comfortable talking about mental health and accessing supports and services we may need.

There are many ways we can each make a difference, such as learning about mental health organizations, supporting friends, colleagues, and family members, and nurturing our own well-being. You can also get involved in mental health initiatives, engage in conversations about mental health, and share your voice on social media using #BellLetsTalk and #GCMentalHealth to help reduce the stigma.

To learn more about the tools and services available to support your well-being, the Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program and the Employee Assistance Program are available 24/7 and designed to support you and your family members with a wide range of personal, family and work-related concerns. As a reminder, if you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8. Bilingual support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline.

Let's take steps today and every day to support mental health, create positive change in our homes and workplaces, and take care of ourselves and those around us.

Your Mental Health co-Champions,

Bill Matthews

Deputy Minister

LGen Frances Allen

Vice Chief of the Defence Staff

Wanda Boudreau
