This may seem like common knowledge, but we quickly forget that theft in the workplace happens more than you think. We need to remember that stolen and/or compromised information has potential to do real damage to you as well as the Department of National defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Read more tips below.

  1. Theft in the workplace happens more than you think. Stolen and/or compromised information has potential to do real damage to Canada, the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
  2. Don’t leave valuables on your desk!
  3. Such as : cash, your phone or ID pass.
  4. Don’t take it home!
  5. Equipment (keyboards - mics - ports) and furniture have to remain in the office, especially for shared spaces.
  6. Lock your screen when you leave!
  7. Also, lock your laptop to your docking station.
  8. Insider threat
  9. Be aware who is around! Are they allowed to be in the area?

Leaving something at your desk unattended isn’t safe.

  • Don’t leave valuables on your desk! Cash, phone, ID, pass, etc.
  • Don’t take it home! Equipment (keyboards - mics - ports) and furniture have to remain in the office, especially for shared spaces.
  • Lock your screen when you leave! Also, lock your laptop to your docking station.
  • Insider threat – Be aware who is around! Are they allowed to be in the area?
