Complete your mid-year performance management assessment

Mid-year is a time when managers must document each employee's mid-year performance in the Public Service Performance Management application (PSPM App) by 31 October 2024

The Directive on Performance Management requires managers to check-in and conduct a formal assessment on their employee's performance. The mid-year review is an opportunity for a productive two-way conversation, where managers can discuss employee's progress, provide productive feedback on their performance, review work objectives and Learning and Development Plans.

Conversations on expected progress at mid-year can help employees stay on track and maximize or improve performance. Managers should schedule these meetings far in advance to prepare the conversation. Employees too can benefit by preparing themselves with a self-examination on progress.

Mid-year reviews

When conducting mid-year reviews, managers should adjust work objectives and/or performance indicators if necessary, documenting comments on performance , and indicate that the employee's performance either:

Military managers must have manager's self-service role in Human Resources Management System (HRMS)/PeopleSoft to access Public Service Performance Management application (PSPM App).

myWorkArrangements

Mid-year review is great opportunity to ensure your employees have an up-to-date and accurate work agreement in the myWorkArrangement (mWA) application. Following the updated Direction on prescribed presence in the workplace, employees were required to submit an updated work agreement by September 9th, 2024.

Reminder: Including a work objective about hybrid compliance is highly recommended.
