Black History Month is a time to reflect on and celebrate the invaluable impact of Black individuals throughout Canada's history. This year's event, hosted by the Department of National Defence's Assistant Deputy Minister (Materiel) [ADM(Mat)], offers an opportunity to embrace unity and work toward a vision of a country where everyone has the chance to thrive.
The theme for this year, "Progress is Precious - Celebrating Excellence", was chosen by ADM(Mat) to honour excellence in public service by uplifting the voices of Black employees. The event will feature insights from public servants and inclusive leaders representing diverse backgrounds, departments, and life stages.
