Launch of the new DND Pool Library

The Human-Resources Civilian (HR-Civ) staffing team has created a new Department of National Defence (DND) Pool Library (accessible only on the National Defence network). This pool library gives you quick and easy access to available candidate pools and inventories to meet your hiring needs.

Every year, the HR-Civ Staffing Team advertises job opportunities, assesses candidates and creates pools of qualified candidates available for appointment. These pools are rich with untapped talent that can help staff your vacancies faster.

You are encouraged to search through this tool before initiating new staffing processes. This is especially important for entry-level positions and high-turnover jobs.

The DND Pool Library allows you to:

• Find out which hiring pools are currently available at DND.
• Filter through key pool details, such as group and level, language profile, and location(s).
• Review the original job advertisement and the merit criteria used to attract and assess candidates.
• See how many candidates are in each pool and the status of the assessment.
• Make faster, informed hiring decisions by leveraging available talent.
• Benefit from the time and effort invested as a Defence Team in creating and maintaining candidate pools.

HR-Civ is committed to ensuring that managers have access to relevant, current, and accurate pools. These pools will be established and replenished with consideration for the geographical needs of Bases and Wings as needed. To maintain candidate engagement, we will validate interest in candidates remaining in the pool and being considered for DND employment opportunities every 90 days.
