The Canadian Army is growing and modernizing, and strong individual training is a big part of that. To help meet this growing demand, the Combat Training Centre (CTC) is inviting Reserve members to take on key training and support roles. Reservists contribute practical experience, leadership, and diverse viewpoints that directly enhance the development of new soldiers.

CTC currently has a wide range of Permanent Class B positions available, covering almost every trade across the Formation. These roles provide Reservists with the chance to support the Army’s training system in a full‑time capacity while developing professionally in a structured environment.

Permanent Class B positions are three‑year contracts, that offer stability for members while ensuring the Formation can continue to align personnel with evolving training needs.

These positions are well suited to Reservists seeking long‑term employment, broader experience, and the opportunity to shape the next generation of Canadian soldiers.

CTC is also recruiting for Pathway to Operationally Functional Point (P2OFP) positions. These temporary Class B roles focus on high‑demand training functions, including:

P2OFP positions begin once candidates are selected and approved and continue until the designated end date for each role. Current positions run until November 2028, offering members a clear timeline and the chance to contribute during a critical period of Army growth.

In addition to longer‑term positions, CTC also has several CFTPO opportunities under 180 days. These short‑term roles are essential to supporting peak training periods and include positions such as:

These shorter commitments allow Reservists to contribute during high‑tempo training cycles while maintaining flexibility with their civilian careers or unit responsibilities. If the experience proves rewarding, they may consider extending their involvement by applying for more permanent, long-term positions. Members interested in these opportunities are encouraged to contact their unit operations staff for details on current vacancies and requirements.

All positions require members to be qualified in their trade. Additional qualifications vary by role and are defined by the employing unit through their terms of reference listed within the Reserve Employment Opportunity (REO). This ensures that each position is filled by personnel with the appropriate background and skill set to support effective training delivery.

Eligible members may also receive benefits such as:

By supporting CTC, Reserve units contribute directly to the development of soldiers who will eventually serve across the Army, including within their own formations. This is a shared investment in the future of the force.
