Looking for a space to connect, share experiences, and have supportive conversations in a relaxed setting? Join the Defence Community Support and Resource Centre’s Peer Connect Informal Groups! These are peer-led spaces for people affected by sexual misconduct where participants come together to connect, share lived experiences and support one another. Discussions are guided by the interests and needs of the group and are chosen by participants during each session. Sessions may also include well-being and grounding activities.
- Group duration: Up to 8 virtual sessions; 90 minutes each; starting September 15th
- Hosted by: A trained peer supporter and a mental health worker
- Discussion topics: Discussions are guided by participants' needs. While participants are asked not to disclose personal details of their experiences, they are encouraged to freely discuss how their experiences have affected them, the support they are seeking, their personal journey, and more.
- Group size: Up to 10 participants per group
- Commitment: Closed group, meaning no new participants can join after the first session. Once signed up, participation is flexible. You can attend as many sessions as you like.
Sign up period closes September 1st
