Expanding support and services for the wider Defence community

19 community-based projects receive funding from the Community Support for Sexual Misconduct Survivors Grant Program
The Defence Community Support and Resource Centre (DCSRC), formerly the Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC), is pleased to announce $3,175,000 in funding for 19 projects led by community-based service providers. Since 2023, the DCSRC’s Grant Program has funded more than 64 projects across Canada.
This year, the Grant Program expanded support for survivors to more regions and continues to evolve to better meet the needs of the Defence community by expanding services and reaching new populations.
Two projects are serving Northern Canada, helping to improve access to services in remote and underserved communities. The newly funded projects also expand the range of services available to survivors by supporting therapy for male and non-binary individuals affected by sexual misconduct.

- Canadian Women for Wellness Initiative
- Child Abuse Prevention and Counselling Society of Greater Victoria
- Aurora Centre
- Counselling and Family Service Ottawa
- Dragonfly Counselling and Support Centre
- Huronia Transition Homes
- Inuvik Justice Committee
- Resource and intervention centre for male victims of sexual abuse and their loved ones (CRIPHASE)
- Moose Jaw Transition House
- Muskoka Parry Sound Coordinated Sexual Assault Services
- Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE)
- Sexual Assault Centre Kingston (SACK)
- Sexual Violence New Brunswick
- Sources Community Resources Society
- The Ending Sexual Violence Association of Canada
- Vancouver Island Men’s Therapy Centre Society
- Viol-Secours (French only)
- White Ribbon
These projects will provide the wider Defence community with greater access to support and services, including crisis management, counselling services, support groups, and victim services. By funding community-based organizations, the DCSRC helps reduce barriers and expand access to confidential, specialized support across Canada.
Through the Grant Program, the DCSRC works with community partners and learns from their feedback on how best to support clients from the wider Defence community. The Program recognizes that each person's needs, preferences, and circumstances are unique. People can choose the services that feel safest, most appropriate, and best meet their needs, whether within or outside DND/CAF systems.
