A career telling the Forces' story

Sgt Redding enrolled in the Canadian Forces in August 1975. As an image technician she focused her lenses on some remarkable sights, people and operations throughout her career.
After only four years in the trade, she had already been called upon to photograph the Queen, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, and Defence Minister Barney Danson. She also served as a photographer during Pope John Paul II’s Papal Tour in Edmonton in 1984, as well as U.K. Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher’s visit in 1985.
From 1996 until her retirement from the Regular Force in 2003, she served as section head of the 19 Wing Comox’s imaging section. In 2005, she joined 19 Air Reserve Flight as a photojournalist, where she continued to highlight 19 Wing through photos and print, particularly when it came to telling Canadians about the search and rescue work done by 442 T&R Squadron.
Over her career she received many awards for her photos, twice winning “Best in Contest” as well as several first place awards.
As she and her husband, former SAR technician Chief Warrant Officer Andy Morris, retire to the British Columbia interior, 19 Wing wishes her happy shooting and thanks for her help in preserving the history and telling the stories of the Canadian Forces for more than 30 years.
