At 61 years old, after more than 40 years of service and three decades of physical training, Warrant Officer (WO) Francine Rozon continues to set the bar high. For the third consecutive year, she has achieved the Platinum Level of the FORCE Test, a rare distinction reserved for only a handful of elite performers. In fact, she is the only Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) member in her age group to have reached this level since 2019 under the FORMeFIT system.

WO Rozon’s journey with the CAF began in 1983, inspired by her two brothers and a close friend who had joined before her. She first enlisted as a medical assistant before transitioning to human resources administration, where her enthusiasm and drive to excel left a lasting mark in every role she held.

After serving 26 years in the Regular Force, she chose to continue her career part-time at HMCS Montcalm, where she has proudly served since 2010.

“With part-time service, I can adjust my schedule to my lifestyle,” she explained. “I have the freedom and flexibility I need. HMCS Montcalm is family to me, and that is why I’m still here, at 61 years of age.”

WO Rozon’s commitment extends beyond her professional life. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, she trains in the gym five days a week, not out of obligation, but as a way of life.

“You can have heavy days at the office or deal with emergencies that make it hard to step away,” she said. “But it’s important to shut everything down and go to the gym—for both my mental and physical health.”

To those who wish to improve their FORCE Test performance, she recommends a simple but effective routine: weight training three times a week, paired with progressive cardio three months prior to the test.

Her dedication was recently recognized as a landmark moment when she received the third clasp to her Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD) and her third Platinum FORCE Test accolade, a double milestone celebrated with a well-deserved ovation from the ship’s company of Montcalm.

As Canada marks Healthy Workplace Month, the story of WO Rozon serves as a powerful reminder that physical and mental strength go far beyond performance. They are the result of a life built on discipline, passion and resilience.

Laughing, she added: “It’s nice to realize that, at 61, I’m still in such great shape! And I’m planning to train until I reach 90, at least!”
