Canadian Army combat divers take the plunge with allies in Exercise ROGUISH BUOY 2016

OTTAWA — The Canadian Army is hosting five countries on Exercise ROGUISH BUOY 2016, running from January 31 to March 1 in the vicinity of Comox Lake, British Columbia.
The goal of the exercise is to prepare Army dive teams to conduct diving tasks in support of deployment operations at the direction of the Government of Canada. Soldiers from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States are also participating in the Canadian Army’s annual combat diving collective training event.

These two previous exercises saw Canadian and international teams improve underwater demolitions and hydraulic/thermal breaching strategies, and practise ice diving search and recovery operations.
- The event is organized by the Army Dive Centre located at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown, New Brunswick.
