Team Canada Warrior Games 2019 Training Camp

Media are invited to the Team Canada Warrior Games 2019 training camp at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt, taking place March 25 to 29, 2019.

Who:

Team Canada Warrior Games 2019 athletes and staff

What:

Opportunity to view and capture B-roll of Team Canada athletes training in archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track, field, wheelchair basketball, indoor rowing, powerlifting, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis. Athletes and staff will be available for interviews throughout the week, depending on training schedules (note: training for golf will take place outside of the training camp).

When:

March 26, 2019 from 9:30 am to 20:30 pm
March 28, 2019 from 9:30 am to 20:30 pm

Where:

Naden Athletic Centre
1200 Woodway Rd
Victoria, BC

A dedicated media availability with Team Canada athletes will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Naval Officer Training Centre located at WorkPoint barracks (entrance off Lyall Street), during which athletes and staff will be available for one-on-one interviews.

Why:

The goal of the United States Department of Defense Warrior Games is to enhance the recovery of ill and injured armed service members and veterans through sport. The 2019 Warrior Games will be held June 21to 30 in Tampa, Florida. The United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) will host that event, in which approximately 300 ill, injured, and wounded servicemen and women from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, and the Netherlands will compete in 13 sports.
