What’s changed from the February 2020 Call for Applications
The CDIS was scheduled to be held in April 2021, but has been postponed to September / October 2021 due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. We will continue to monitor the pandemic situation and will adjust our plans as necessary to conduct the sandbox in a safe manner. Although delayed, at this time we are not accepting any new applications to attend the sandbox. Those that did apply for April 2021 have been contacted directly by IDEaS and will be kept informed of any additional changes.
- Submit your application prior to 2 PM EST on 16 December 2020.
- Obtain a Sandbox EPost account by 30 November 2020.
- If available, a RCN warship or a similar commercial ship will be offered for those solutions that demonstrate successfully detect the corrosion on the test panels.
- Solutions which include airborne drones must follow all Transport Canada regulations. See details under the “Responsibilities” tab.
- On the Application Form:
- Dates amended throughout.
- Section 1.1. Correction to the required SRL on the French form due to a typographical error (SRL 4 should have been SRL 5)
- Section 2.1.2. Clarification made to the Operational Scenario questions.
- Section 2.2.2. Clarification made to the Operational Scenario questions.
- Section 4.3. A mandatory response for the use of airborne drones has been added.
