- to be treated with dignity and respect;
- to be listened to and have their concerns heard;
- to have relevant information to make an informed decision about their care;
- to participate in their own care;
- privacy and confidentiality of all care experiences and medical records;
- be provided cultural and gender sensitive care;
- to have a chaperone for examinations (if requested); and
- to have unsafe care or errors in care reported
To help the team provide quality care, patient's also have a responsibility to provide relevant information about their health, voice concerns or ask questions when they don't understand care decisions and to attend scheduled/booked appointments.
