C. BN to CMP-Request to Extend Waiver Period Due to Persistent Ongoing COVID-19 Environment (NOTAL)

  1. At reference A, CMP approved a recommendation to waive the requirement for a Reserve Force  member to have a valid PHA on record prior to commencing a period of Reserve service. Their most recent PHA results on record will be accepted solely for the purpose of approving periods of Reserve Service as required under paragraph 2.6 of reference B.
  2.  In response to the persistent COVID-19 environment, CMP approved the extension of the waiver period until 1 December 2021 with an understanding that wherever circumstances permit, Canadian Armed Forces members and Commanding Officers are to ensure individual readiness benchmarks are maintained (reference C).
  3. This waiver applies to current and new periods of both full-time (less than 180 days and more than 180 days) and part-time service, and to all classes of Reserve service.
  4.  Questions regarding this issue should be directed to J1 Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers HQ.
