Outside of Canada Emergency Medical/Dental Assistance Card
1. In order to improve accessibility to emergency health care to CF personnel while outside of Canada, the CF has entered into an agreement with Atlantic Blue Cross Care (ABCC).
2. The attached “Blue Cross” card will provide CF members with useful information in case of serious medical / dental emergencies.
3. The telephone numbers will provide access to Blue Cross personnel in Canada who will offer CF personnel or civilian providers with:
- A list of health care providers;
- Language assistance; and
- Payment guarantee for the health care and services rendered or to be provided.
4. This service does not negate the responsibilities of F members to notify their unit in case of emergencies and where possible follow the medical and dental instructions outlined on the back of the leave authorization form (CF 100).
5. CF personnel who have paid for health-related goods and services prescribed by a civilian physician or dentist must submit receipts and associated documents to the CF medical / dental facility providing support.
