As part of the screening process for adults who work with this youth program, all volunteers are required to provide a current Police Records Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening.

The Junior Canadian Ranger program is open to young people between the ages of 12 and 18, and serves northern, coastal and isolated communities in Canada. It teaches life skills, Canadian Ranger skills, and traditional skills, providing youth with the tools they need to become healthy, independent adults who can make a difference in their communities. The program is operated by the Canadian Armed Forces, at no cost to the youth who participate, and is delivered by local Canadian Rangers and community volunteers.

We are aware that some police jurisdictions provide the Police Records Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening without charge or at a reduced charge for individual seeking volunteer roles primarily to serve a vulnerable sector of the population. If your jurisdiction offers this service, please accept this letter as proof that the applicant intends to work with a non-profit, youth-serving organization.
