Application: This is an order that applies to members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and a directive that applies to Civilian Instructors and employees of the Department of National Defence (DND) employed within the Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers (CJCR).

3. Definitions

National. National represents all the provinces and territories of Canada.

International. International represents countries outside of Canada. This term also refers to certain cadet activities conducted within Canada in which cadets/youth from other countries participate.

4. Policy

4.1 The CJCR HQ may institute NDAs to augment the Corps/Squadron and CTC Programs. In order to maintain cadets’ interest, the CJCR HQ staff will tailor the NDAs to match elemental interests while capitalizing on national and international opportunities and resources.

4.2 Established NDAs include:

  1. National Cadet Air Rifle Marksmanship Championship;
  2. National Cadet Winter Biathlon Championship;
  3. Sea, Army and Air Cadet international exchange Programs;
  4. Sea Cadet ship deployments on board Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships, Coast Guard Ships, etc.;
  5. National Sea Cadet Regatta;
  6. Sea Cadet National Tall Ship Deployment;
  7. Sea Cadet seamanship concentration;
  8. Army Cadet Program national expedition;
  9. Army Cadet Program international expedition; and
  10. National music activity.

4.3 The addition of new activities or the cancellation of existing activities must be balanced within the NDA and/or CTC Program components of the Cadet Program. CJCR HQ may choose to amend, expand, or eliminate established NDAs as new opportunities arise.

5.1 Annual or more frequent review and updates, as required.

5.2 Users of CJCR Gp O are encouraged to identify any errors, omissions or suggested orders to the attention of CJCR HQ J1 Policy.
