Commander Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers Group Statement on Ethics
My expectations of personal conduct in CJCR Gp are intentionally high. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all youth in our programs is my number one priority. The youth we guide are the next generation of our country’s leaders. Their families, the CAF, and Canadians trust that we are accomplishing this in a respectful and ethical manner. Our individual and collective conduct – whether CAF personnel, DND employees, Civilian Instructors, Volunteers, Cadets or Junior Canadian Rangers, shall be of the highest standard. This is a shared responsibility of the CJCR Gp team that we must all be fully committed to.
At all levels in the CJCR Gp, we will:
- Foster and maintain a culture that is aligned with the principles, values and expectations outlined in the CAF Ethos, Defence Ethics Programme and the CJCR Gp Codes of Conduct.
- Learn these principles and values and understand the expected behaviours in order to demonstrate that we know what is expected of us.
- Behave in a professional manner that aligns with these expectations.
- Speak up and take corrective action when others do not. We will not just be bystanders or observers of inappropriate behavior.
- Recognize and share examples of positive actions, expected behaviours, and principled decisions so we can leverage our experiences and continually build on what we do well.
Through appropriate behaviour, we promote a culture of inclusivity, where all our people feel safe, respected, welcomed and valued, in an environment free from all forms of discrimination, abuse, inappropriate and damaging conduct.
Let’s continue to make CJCR Gp a positive workplace in every respect!
