- Aim: This instruction provides administrative information to in-person invitees and their primary points of contact on the Joint Operations Symposium 2026 (JOS 2026) to be conducted at the Canadian War Museum (CWM) in Ottawa, on 20 May 2026
- Participation:
- In-person attendance to this symposium is by invitation only. All others interested will be able to attend virtually.
- Timings: The JOS 2026 agenda is posted to the JOS webpage at Joint Operations Symposium Additional timing information follows:
- Registration for invitees will be available from 07:30 hrs until 08:15 hrs on 20 May 2026; and
- The VIP photograph will occur during the morning coffee break (10:30 hrs 20 May 2026) for selected guests.
- Location: Barney Danson Theatre (BDT), The Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, Ontario.
- Accommodations: Individual responsibility.
- Security: JOS 2026 is an unclassified series of briefings, panels, and discussions. However, to ensure appropriate discussion protocols are adhered to:
- All access to the BDT will be physically controlled through an access badge control system. Badges will be issued upon confirmation of participant identification during registration; and
- Participants will be reminded of their responsibility to ensure that discussions remain within unclassified parameters and that sensitive information is not disclosed.
- Information Management:
- Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be available for in-person attendees, if required;
- JOS 2026 will be recorded in its entirety, and edited for future access;
- Virtual streaming of JOS 2026 will be provided. Virtual attendance must be requested through the JOS 2026 registration website. Live stream guidelines are as follows:
- Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English and French;
- Virtual attendees will access the live stream via a JOS 2026 webcast site. Virtual Instructions, the URL link along with the password will be sent via email NLT 19 May 2026; and
- The live stream is best viewed on a non-DWAN, non-VPN device. A personal computer with Internet access is the recommended viewing option using the Google Chrome web browser.
- Dress:
- CAF/Allied participants. Operational dress, or equivalent national uniform; and
- Civilians. Business attire.
- Transportation:
- Participants are responsible to arrange their own transport while in Ottawa. JOS 2026 will not be providing pickup or shuttle services;
- Underground parking is available at the CWM for $16.00/day; and
- A duty vehicle will be available for urgent use, should it be required. Coordination for its use will be through the on-site JOS 2026 Support Team Lead.
- Meals:
- A working lunch will be provided under a bulk food services contract at public expense; and
- Catered coffee, and refreshments will be available at the CWM from 08:00-15:00 hrs.
