Families in the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM will benefit from improved community spaces that support a better quality of life
News Release
As a result of an investment of nearly $450,000 by the Government of Canada, families in the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM will be able to benefit from upgraded recreational areas and modern community facilities. The funding provided will generate nearly $900,000 in related investment by other partners, such as non‑profit organizations and municipalities.
These non-repayable contributions were announced today by David Lametti, MP for LaSalle—Émard—Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.
The six recipients are: O.T.J. de N.D. d’Hébertville, the Municipality of Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur, Milot Economic Development Corporation, the Municipality of Lamarche, the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 20), and Sacerf des Passes Inc.
This investment was made through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, a $300M fund set up to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary by investing in community spaces that bring Canadians together. Up to $63.5M of this funding will be spent in Quebec.
