The following information is in addition to the news release issued on February 28, 2022, on CED’s financial assistance through the National Ecosystem Fund of the Black Entrepreneurship Program, the recipient organizations, and their respective projects.

Côte-des-Neiges Black Community Association (CDNBCA)

The project will expand what is offered through the Ujamaa Initiative for Black Entrepreneurship (UIBE) to a broader group of English-speaking, Black entrepreneurs and business owners in Quebec, to increase their access to training, business preparation, and development support to launch, grow and expand their businesses.

Audace au Féminin

The project aims to establish full mentoring services to address the limited service offering ill adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of Black women entrepreneurs in Quebec.

Centre d’encadrement pour jeunes femmes immigrantes (CEJFI) (in French only)

The project involves establishing, in partnership with the Chantier d’Afrique du Canada, a continuum of entrepreneurial services for Black women of African origin between the ages of 18 and 50. It will help address the limited service offering ill adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of Black women entrepreneurs in Quebec.

The project aims to enhance entrepreneurial mentoring services in the Black community in Quebec with referencing, management accompaniment, incubation, and mentoring services.

The project involves offering targeted mentoring services to individuals and groups to encourage the digital shift among Black businesses in order to strengthen their economic position and create a space for collaboration, networking, and exchanges.

DESTA Black Youth Network

The project aims to improve DESTA’s support services for entrepreneurs in the food and digital industries. The project will make it possible to compensate for limited services in these sectors that are not adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of young, English‑speaking, Black entrepreneurs in the greater Montréal area.

Fondation Fabienne Colas

The project aims to offer entrepreneurial mentoring to Black creators and filmmakers to enable them to seize concrete opportunities to break into the Canadian cultural community. The project will help address the limited service offering ill adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of Black entrepreneurs in the arts in Quebec and Canada.

Fonds Afro-Entrepreneurs

The project aims to develop and unite under the same roof specialized individual and group mentoring services for Black entrepreneurs and businesses in Quebec.

The project aims to enhance Groupe 3737’s mentoring services and will make it possible to offer training workshops, accompaniment, co‑development, coaching, mentoring, access to experts, and targeted referencing. The project will help address the limited service offering ill adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of Black Francophone entrepreneurs in Canada.

Black Youth Socio-Economic Development Summit

The project will help integrate Black youth into Quebec’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. It aims to address the limited service offering ill adapted to the reality and specific characteristics of these youth. It will make it possible to offer networking activities; idea development, start-up, and growth support; mentoring; and digital support by external experts.
