On Government of Canada programs and services delivery to Canadians during a Canada Post service disruption

“The Government of Canada has measures in place so that Canadians will continue to receive services and benefits in the event of a service disruption at Canada Post.
We will also make key information available on how benefits and payments will be delivered during a Canada Post service disruption at Canada.ca.
In the meantime, I encourage everyone to sign up for direct deposit in order to avoid any delays. Direct deposit is the standard way to deliver payments to Canadians, and it is secure, convenient, and reliable.
Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security claimants who receive their cheques through the mail will not be impacted. A special measure has been negotiated with Canada Post for these cheques to be delivered on July 20, 2016.
